Howard M. Turner − Production/Assembly Manager
‘A Master Mechanic who is straight to the point, and calls it how he sees it’ best describes the subject of our latest Employee Spotlight.
Howard Turner started working at Loomis in 1971 cleaning the shop. Howard worked his way up the ranks by learning multiple skills; Welding, Machining, Hydraulic assembly, just to name a few. It is probably safe to say that every one of our Customers has had an opportunity to speak with Howard at some point or another over the years.
While working at Loomis Howard has traveled the world and back (several times). He claims that Sardinia was his favorite place because he loved the beaches, the food, and the beautiful scenery.
On Howard’s spare time he enjoys fishing and working on his motor cycle. When he’s not in Pennsylvania, he’s in Florida soaking up the sun on the beach, or catching large mouth bass .
During the course of his career at Loomis from 1971 to 2011, Howard has moved up to Fabrication Shop Foreman, where he oversees final production of every Loomis press. With each new project, Howard’s attention to detail and meticulous drive for perfection is clearly evident. Every Machine that Loomis builds, is done so as if he were keeping it himself. Everything is perfect and wiped clean. No leaks, spills or surprises.
“Everything has to be perfect before it leaves Loomis” is Howard’s motto.
We are proud to acknowledge Howard Turner’s contribution to Loomis in our latest Employee Spotlight.

George T. Reichard − Control Systems Manager
George joined Loomis Products Company in January 1989 as Controls System Manager. He came to Loomis from the North American Refractories Company (NARCO) Research Center in State College, PA. It was during his time at NARCO that George acquired extensive knowledge of Loomis technology, in that he was directly responsible for operation and maintenance of several Loomis machines at the Research Center.
As Control Systems Manager, George oversees Electrical Engineering, Design, and Production. He is embedded within the Pneumatic & Hydraulic design process, and is also directly involved in Machine Testing & Start-up, On-site Commissioning, and Technical Support.
“While working for Loomis, I’ve had the opportunity to travel all over the world; Asia, Europe, Australia, South America, and of course North America. In fact, I met my wife in 1993 while on-site in Rio de Janiero. I try to visit Brazil every year”
Upon arriving at Loomis, George quickly implemented improvements to products and production processes gained through his knowledge of advancements in Control technology.
“ I have always focused on incorporating new innovations in order to enhance functionality of Loomis pressing equipment; it is the part of the job I enjoy most”
Some notable developments that George has been involved with include “Closed Loop” pressure, force & velocity control for Extruders, as well as “Decompression” control for Isostatic presses.
George lists his interests as Family, Travel, Hunting & Fishing. Spending time with his wife and children comes first, and they often travel together. Recently (with the assistance of Howard Turner - Hydraulics), George had a side project where he modified his boat by adding a tunnel to raise the outboard motor; thus allowing it to run in shallow water. His future plans include a winter home in Brazil…good luck with that one George!!
